Maccy D’s Paper Bag Lamps

I actually really love these! This warm glow is courtesy of Korean designer Gyuhan Lee and his recycled McDonald’s paper bags. Lee is known for upcycling everyday objects and a trip to Tokyo’s airport provided another opportunity. Lockdown and the increased dependency on fast food had made Lee want to bring that element of our lives into his work, when he saw the large ‘M’ on the paper bags it sparked an idea he finally has been able to to bring to life.

The paper bags make wonderful lamps, snugly fitting over black metal frames. Lee has not made it clear if he will sell his creations, though he has quite a following of fans who would gladly snap them up if he does!
