London in Lockdown
3rd June 2020
The recent lockdown across the UK has lead creatives to think a little outside of the box. Firstly because its been very hard to earn a living, secondly we are seeing the world like never before.
Jan Enkelmann, a London-based photographer, found the streets of the capital captivating. Familiar places that never sleep, Piccadilly Circus, Oxford Street and China Town became very still.
A single red double-decker bus and the odd silhouette of a person remain. Jan felt the series might speak of the emptiness of a space devoid of people but instead it seemed to capture “the stillness of a city being allowed a breather to reveal a beauty that often goes unnoticed”.
A favourite of mine is the London Eye, just beautiful. You can see more at Creative Boom, and view Jan’s website here.
