Kristen Garneau’s Landscapes

9th February 2024

With our current calendar featuring times of the day, I have found myself drawn to artists that capture the transient light that marks the passing of time. Dawn, dusk and every nuance in between. One such artist is Californian based Kristen Garneau who paints with impressionistic style the subtleties of light in her far west countryside home.

The roll of fog coming across the landscape, those perilous looking purple skies or the moisture that hangs in the air as the sun sinks into the horizon. I love these kind of landscapes, more than what’s actually there, we are left with a strong sense of how she felt, as well as what she saw.
