Inside Out House
9th December 2020
This French farmhouse really is an adventure. It feels wonderfully rustic as well as quite unexpected. The owner’s of this crumbling French home had a tight budget so the architects Collective Encore decided to change very little. The crumbled roof rather than being replaces was left open allowing light to flood in.
Everything had dual purpose, stairs were shelves for example. When it came to safety rails, well there aren’t any, instead there are safety nets which double as hammocks, kid play areas or even extra places to sleep!
The house needed to be wheelchair friendly so there are lots of ramps which gives a lovely feeling of multiple storeys, a layered house that suits everyone.
