Brightly Coloured Skate Park
15th July 2020
London-based furniture designer Yinka Ilori brings the colour to this new skate park in Lille, France. The La Condition Publique centre boasts a new indoor skate park that promise to bring a vibrance to the warehouse conversion, renovated by architect Patrick Bouchain in 2004.
I love the painted bricks, Ilori says that he wanted the skaters imagination to be engaged as they enjoy the space. The colours were meant to be inclusive, for novice boarders and for pros.
Ilori says “It was super fun and allowed me to collaborate and think differently about how people use public spaces. The sad news is I still can’t skate but practice makes perfect!”
