The Cornish Surfer Homeware Design
Designing for a Growing Homeware Collection
Our work with The Cornish Surfer has included developing artwork for an expanding collection of homewares, from blankets and bedding to ceramics and smaller pieces. Working closely with Anouska, we have adapted the brand’s distinctive visual elements so they can work across products of very different shapes, materials and scales.
From Pattern to Finished Pieces
One of our earliest projects together was a blanket, which helped establish how the identity could move beyond the logo and into a wider collection. The wave and stripe artwork was subsequently adapted across textiles, bedding and ceramics, creating a recognisable family of products while allowing each piece to work in its own right.
As the collection developed, the artwork also needed to work practically for different applications and suppliers. Part of our role has been refining ideas, visualising how designs will appear on finished pieces and preparing artwork that can be used in production.
Allowing the Collection to Evolve
The homeware range has continued to grow rather than being tied to a single pattern or treatment. More recently, we worked with Anouska on a leaf-inspired motif that introduced a different direction for the collection while still feeling recognisably part of The Cornish Surfer.
That ongoing collaboration means new ideas can be explored while retaining the character that connects the individual products and the wider brand.
