Life at the Louvre

25th April 2025

I stumbled across these photographs from the multi talented Alécio de Andrade. The Brazilian poet is known for many things, including working as a Paris correspondent and press photographer for a number of years. Since arriving in France in the 1960s Alécio de Andrade must have visited the Louvre Museum 100s of times, amassing 12,000 photos that were complied into a book by Magnum in the 1990s.

Miss Moss shared some of these on her blog and I wanted to post them here too. There is just something about looking at people looking at art that captivates. The beauty of human form comes across too, in those intimate moments of connection or just happy coincidences where life reflects art.
