Illustrated colouring book design for Harbour Treats

A creative souvenir inspired by Port Isaac

Harbour Treats commissioned us to create a colouring book that could be enjoyed as an activity and kept as a reminder of a visit to Port Isaac. We developed a bespoke collection of black-and-white illustrations inspired by the character of the Cornish fishing village and its harbour.

The full-colour cover introduces the finished style and incorporates the Harbour Treats identity we had previously designed. Inside, the detailed line illustrations remain open and inviting to colour, giving visitors the freedom to create their own versions of the scenes.

Each page was perforated so that the completed illustrations could be removed and used as postcards. This simple practical detail gave the book a second purpose and made it more than a conventional visitor souvenir.

We handled the illustration, page layout and print production as one complete project. The book was printed on good-quality uncoated stock, chosen to work well with pencils while giving the finished product a pleasing, substantial feel.
