We came on board with Cornish Horizons whilst the company was expanding, it has been really exciting to see this Cornish company flourish. Managing cottages in Padstow, St Ives, Fowey and the surrounding areas this holiday rental company needed design for many different applications.
We help them with their direct mail campaigns, printed newsletters, advertising and mailers. We are happy to work with an existing brand and can grow with a company ensuring that its aesthetic is constant in all areas of marketing.
This is an A5 mailer we designed promoting the company to new customers.
We also design the layout for monthly newsletters. After designing a format we tweak the design for each individual campaign.
This is the leaflet we designed to promote the cottages they have in and around St Ives. Large pictures of tempting Cornish scenes and bright holiday colours sit happily side by side. We also designed symbols to help distinguish which cottages have which features.
Working with the circle of the logo we designed vehicle graphics for Cornish Horizons. We wanted something that would stand out and be a great advertisement for them as they drive around.
We are constantly working on new projects with our friends Cornish Horizons, we just completed their new A5 magazine.
To soften the pages we illustrated a map of Cornwall and used different textures to add layers to the design.
When designing the spreads we needed to fit in profiles for each of Cornish Horizon’s cottages with custom designed symbols to indicate what each property provides. We broke up the text by pulling out quotes and using different fonts and weights. We also boxed out key facts and quotes to link up pages.
We also designed the spreads for the town guides. We used large images to set the scene and broke up the text to make the format easily accessible. A lovely project to be involved in.
Here is the brochure we created for Cornish Horizons in 2016. An A4 format for their prospective and new clients, our job was to make this information easy to read and visually interesting.
We introduced textures and little illustrations softening the design and conjuring a holiday feel.
We wove photographs in the with the design and worked with the brand blue and green with an addition of lilac and orange too.
Some pages have inset pictures of properties and we used a two column grid.
The cover image wraps around to the back and is printed in a lovely uncoated stock.
Carrying on that illustrative feel we have created little illustrations for our clients to use on their website. These banners can slot between their cottages and work as links to specific sections of the website.
We have also created many adverts for different publications, mailers, posters and promotions for the Cornish Horizons brand. We work within the guidelines of the brand as well as using our illustration for that personal touch.
For 2018 we have created a new kind of brochure, a fold-out mailer. The A3 full colour poster is folded down to a square and helps introduce holiday makers to Cornish Horizons. We wanted the brochure to highlight the expert local knowledge the team have, with ‘Secret Cornwall’ features and a hand drawn map.
We wanted to communicate the fun nature of the brand and their love for Cornwall. The nice thing about a fold out brochure is the journey, you discover more as you unfold. Different panels highlight different holiday types – luxury, country, dog friendly and down the left of the inside we have team members introducing their favourite places.
We get to help our clients with all kinds of marketing projects! The brief here was to present the marketing statistics in a fresh and fun way with that hand-made touch. We originally created a digital A4 pdf but our clients really liked the design so we created a printed version. This was the concertina fold we designed.
We have been introducing more elements of illustration into the brand. This is a ‘welcome’ piece of artwork we created for their newsletter featuring some Cornish elements and a rather long sausage dog!
Following on with our lovely sausage dog, here is the shopping bag we designed for Cornish Horizons. Our illustrated and rather long pooch continues on the back. These are handed out as advertising and are very popular!
Brand new for 2019 we have this beautiful lifestyle brochure. The square format has large pages printed on uncoated stock with a soft touch matt laminate cover which feels like velvet! The brochure for Cornish Horizons highlights the different areas of Cornwall and some of their best properties. We worked with their marketing team to create the layout and Emma also hand drew maps for each of the areas.
Our clients loved the maps so much they asked us to hand illustrate a map for each of the locations where their offices are based. These maps would serve as useful guides for holiday makers and could be downloaded from the website or printed and carried around.
We designed maps for St Ives, Fowey, Padstow, Looe and Porthleven.
We picked out key landmarks with little illustrations and included important roads. Our seagull character provides a ‘call to action’.
As well as hand drawn illustrations to enhance the Cornish Horizons brand we produce more corporate vector illustrations for things such as statistics and infographics.
We help our client with little projects and promotions that pop up along the way like this poster to advertise International Plastic Bag Free Day. Cornish Horizons handed out the jute bags we designed.
To symbolise when a cottage is eco friendly Cornish Horizons asked us to design a couple of logos that could be placed next to a property. We created a ‘plus’ version as well as landscape and portrait orientations.
